Òpera a Catalunya
The OSV is a founding member of the Fundació Òpera a Catalunya (Opera in Catalonia Foundation), playing an active role in its work from day one.
Our goals are the creation, production, direction, presentation and communication of opera and lyric theatre productions, continuing the work started more than 40 years ago by the Associació d’Amics de l'Òpera de Sabadell (Association of Friends of the Opera of Sabadell).
The guiding values of the Fundació Òpera a Catalunya are entrepreneurship, sustainability, rootedness, talent and cultural projection.
For the upcoming season we have selected fully-staged versions of four operas: La Bohème (G. Puccini), Tosca (G. Puccini), Nabucco (G. Verdi) and Carmen (G. Bizet).
Venues in thirteen Catalan cities form part of the Òpera a Catalunya circuit: Sabadell, Sant Cugat de Vallès, Manresa, Granollers, Reus, Girona, Vic, Tarragona, Figueres, Cornellà de Llobregat, Lleida, Viladecans and Barcelona. As regards the rest of Spain, the Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria, in Santander, has also joined the circuit in recent years.
